I'm a reader, blogger, teacher, doggo mum, and writer. I became an avid fantasy reader, at the age of 20, when I picked up a book by Brent Weeks. I devoured the series in a weekend and set out to find more. That led to other authors I still greatly admire, like Mark Lawrence, David Gemmell, and Joe Abercrombie.
I write dark fantasy in an academic setting. My first book, The Reject, was inspired by my students- both past and present- who face and have faced tremendous academic, societal and parental pressure to be who they are expected to be, while their hearts and minds yearn to something else. Someone else.
